hierzulande wird das south by southwest festival nur wenigen ein begriff sein.

Die 10 Tage lange Veranstaltung in Austin, Texas gehört zum größten, was die Musikwelt zu bieten hat. Über 1.000 Bands und Künstler treten überall in der Region auf, vornehmlich aufstrebende Acts aus den USA und Großbritannien.

auf der seite boredwithmusic.com findet man eine auflistung aller im rahmen dieses festivals von den bands kostenlos zur verfügung gestellten songs. 726 stk. (!) im mp3-format.

wem es zu mühsam ist, die files einzeln zu ziehen, kann auf folgende alternativen zurückgreifen:

berlin, die zweite: johannes bergheim aka cotumo, der gemeinsam mit dj das schwarze quadrat die SKIKT!-parties im rosi's organisiert, stellt auf seiner website vier mixes (2x techhouse, 1x idm, 1x ambient) zum download bereit.

zerinnerung ist das meines wissens erste netlabel(?), das sich ausschließlich auf die veröffentlichung von dj-mixes konzentriert. zurückgegriffen wird dabei auf cc lizenzierte musik anderer netlabels.

release nummer eins nennt sich heart trip und wurde vom berliner felix jahn aka q-man zusammengestellt und gemixt.

Next week is the Grokster Supreme Court hearing, where Hollywood will argue that technologies that are capable of being used to infringe copyright should be designed to prevent such infringement. In the week leading up to the hearing, EFF(?) is publishing a daily list of technologies that couldn't survive such a standard, including Xerox machines, TCP/IP, blogs, VCRs, Email and more.

schön war´s, dieses netstock festival. und weil es eben so schön war gibt´s auf vielfachen wunsch mein set (mp3/80mb) zum download.

sehr empfehlenswert auch das set von marko fürstenberg aka surphase (thinner/stadtgruen/realaudio).

in einigen tagen werden dann alle netstock performances, liveacts & mixsets auf archive.org zum download bereitstehen. mehr dazu demnächst hier.

einen interessanten ansatz verfolgte übrigens martin aka 020200 von 2063music, der technologie-nerdtum und eine gepflegte samstagmorgen brunch-picknick atmosphäre auf diese weise verschmelzen ließ.

das netstock festival läuft übrigens schon seit freitag nachmittag. tune in!

da suchte ich bis heute mehr oder weniger intensiv nach titel und interpret eines stücks, das ich im sommer 2002 um 1:00 uhr nachts im radio gehört habe, stosse am nachmittag zufälligst auf eben diese information und erfahre darüber hinaus, dass der typ gestern in der stadtwerkstatt gespielt hat. einmal arschbiss mit soße bitte!

noch bis zum 21. april (di. - so. 10:00 - 18:00 uhr) kann man sich im medien.KUNSTLABOR im kunsthaus graz das projekt burn_station von platoniq.net/rama cosentino, welches sich den neuen arten der weiterverbreitung von musik über das internet widmet, ansehen. besucher können aus einer fülle an free-of-charge-music wählen, die von verschiedensten internationalen netlabels(?) zur verfügung gestellt wurde und so ihre eigenen compilations editieren und brennen (mehr info und fotos).

Pairs of shoes are mysteriously being dumped outside a farmhouse in Lincolnshire, England. Since December, more than a dozen have shown up on the side of the road, usually on Sunday. According to the BBC, "some of the shoes are cheap, with price labels of £1.99 attached and some are more expensive designer brands."

The (Foster family who live nearby) have video footage, which shows an elderly couple driving by in a green vehicle depositing the shoes.

Mrs Foster said that although it was scary at first, she was rather hoping some of the pairs might fit.
